nsu – Panic Bells – Remixes
by newclear on Apr.19, 2010, under Releases
The first release of 2010 for nsu is the “Panic Bells” remix single, which comes with a pair of quality cuts by two of Auckland’s most rated producers. First up is a dark, grimey and percussive dubstep mix courtesy of AP3X, while on the flip-side, Bromide Dub delivers his so-called signature “menace-funk” rework, rinsing several key elements from the original version.
The single release is accompanied by the “Panic Bells” music video, directed by Aleksandar Janev (see here for premiere night in Auckland!).
The remix single is available now in digital (MP3) format from Bandcamp, iTunes, JunoDownload.com, Amplifier.co.nz, AmazonMP3 and other online retailers.
“Panic Bells” is taken from the “Escape” EP (NCMR002EP), out now.

Live Video
Earlier this year, in March, nsu played a live set at the Downbeat Syndrome gig in Auckland. During the set, Micah Stray Theories spontaneously joined nsu on stage and played some great saxophone improvisations during nsu’s performance of “Darkness” and “Concordia”.
Click here to see the video footage of the jam.
New Remix for Sharkweek
The latest remix by nsu is a minimal tech-house treatment of Sharkweek‘s “Reach Out to the Stars”, from his debut album “Hammerhead Nebula”. The remix will appear on the Sharkweek remix album “Shark’s Head Soup” later in the year, among remixes by other NZ artists.
Also to appear on the remix album will be nsu’s dubstep-style remix of “Moonrise Over Kerala”.
Currently in the works are remixes for Squeezer Project and Stray Theories.
